Aid for Disaster Victims
Funds are collected through the disaster relief fund of the Sympatia Ingathering to help victims of disasters. Each year, at least 5% of the total proceeds of the Sympatia Ingathering are allocated to the disaster relief fund.
With your donation, we can immediately send funds to crisis areas when disasters occur. The delivery of aid and the relief work for victims are coordinated and monitored by the worldwide ADRA network through its offices closest to the disaster area.
In 2018, the global ADRA network helped victims of a total of 225 disasters around the world. In 2020, ADRA Finland’s disaster relief fund supported victims of the Beirut explosion and the cyclone in Fiji. In 2021, the fund supported homeless people in Serbia and households in the Kabul region of Afghanistan. In 2022, it supported victims of the war in Ukraine — in Ukraine, Romania, Poland, and Finland — as well as work in Migori County, Kenya, to protect young girls from female genital mutilation.
During 2023, humanitarian aid was delivered to Ukraine, Somalia, Slovenia, Turkey, and Syria.
Help people in crisis areas with your generous support. Thank you warmly!
