Improving the living conditions of people with disabilities in a comprehensive way and supporting their empowerment can significantly change the lives and future opportunities of children and young people with disabilities in the Kendu and Homa Bay areas of western Kenya.
Corrective surgeries carried out with the support of ADRA Finland’s work play a significant role. In the Surgical Safaris project, volunteer top surgeons from Finland use their expertise to help Kenyan children and young people with disabilities.
Your support makes these surgeries possible. It is used to cover the surgery and treatment fees of the local hospital, as well as the costs of aftercare.
More than 1,300 children with disabilities have already received help through these surgeries. Many of the children who have undergone surgery have been able to return to school. They are no longer bullied and no longer suffer from the pain caused by their disability.
